For my daughter’s 9th birthday she requested a Squishy and Slime Birthday Party.
Apparently squishes are all the rage right now and slime making is right up there as well. I had a hard time finding anything on Pinterest or the internet that resembled a squishy party so I just went for it and made it myself. We set up a food table in our kitchen and made or other table the crafting table.
I found this super cute and colorful birthday invitation from Etsy from DreamJarInvitations here.
Crafts
Next, I went to 5 Below in my hometown to find all the crafts that the girls would do at the party. We found DIY Squishies kits, and DIY Galaxy stress balls. I just went to my local Wal-Mart to get all the supplies to make the slime.
Luckily it was all together in one place. I guess I wasn’t the first mom in there trying to buy slime supplies. We found this Mermaid Slime recipe on Pinterest and decided this colorful and sparkly slime would go well with the party decor.
Some of the below paint came with the squishes kit but I also bought the Tulip fabric paint from Wal-Mart to supplement since we were going to have 7 little girls and i wanted everyone to have enough paint.
We also had a food and goodies to eat while we made our crafts.
Here are how our DIY Squishes from 5 Below turned out! Aren’t they all so cute! All the girls at the party did an amazing job and loved making them. This craft lasted a good hour so be prepared with enough time to get the squishes made.
At the end of the party, every girl got to adopt their own Squishy to take home with them. This was super fun and they had a lot of fun choosing which one they wanted. I used the thank you note from the Easy invitation I purchased to make the sure little adoption sign. Most of these squishes came from Amazon.
And this is one vey happy birthday girl with an arm full or new squishes to add to her collection! Now I think I need to make a shelf in her room for all of them!
